Governors' orientation - directors’ liability

A discussion of governance responsibilities such as liability, accountability and pension issues will be reviewed. The session will highlight areas of personal and corporate liabilities for governors and the means to protect themselves.

10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Governors' update - CAAT Pension Plan and Collective Bargaining The status of the CAAT Pension Plan and the implications of pension issues for individual colleges and the college system will be reviewed and discussed.

Derek Dobson, plan manager and CEO, CAAT Pension Plan
Wallace Kenny, Partner, Hicks Morley, will provide an introduction to collective bargaining.

10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Student governors' network

Jim Robeson, director of advocacy from the College Student Alliance (CSA), will facilitate an interactive discussion regarding the three layers of consideration for a successful student governor: system, institution and student. Open to all student governors
